Two Women Injured by Falling Tree
Two women were injured in west Houston at about 11:30 am on Sunday, September 2nd while traveling northbound on Highway 6 near the Addicks Reservoir when a large oak tree toppled over onto the vehicle they were in and entirely blocked the highway’s northbound traffic lanes. According to HPD officers on the scene, HFD first responders had to cut the tree’s massive limbs to free the women and they were then transported to an area hospital in stable condition to be treated for relatively minor injuries. It was not immediately clear whether the tree which fell was on the public right-of-way or grew on adjacent private land.
