Deputy Constable in 3 Quick Collisions
A Harris County Constable Pct. 4 deputy is in the hospital following his involvement in three quick collisions on the night of Thursday, September 28th. The deputy crashed his Dodge Charger in the southbound lanes of the Eastex Freeway near Hopper, during which neither he nor his female passenger was injured. However, he exited his vehicle to assess the damage and was promptly struck by not one, but two other vehicles in separate hit-and-run collisions in quick succession as he stood by his vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to an area hospital in critical condition, but is expected to survive his injuries. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating all three incidents. The deputy’s female passenger was not injured in either of the latter incidents and is being interviewed about what happened. Anyone with knowledge of the crashes is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
